Pelham sleeps soundly after a good run, snuggled in his new/old woollen blanket.  The stove is ticking and I hear my own footsteps on the boards.  A pear, date and walnut chutney is pending.  This is a thick, rich Autumn chutney, using pears from my dear friend Mrs Damazer's garden.  We celebrated passover with her in the Spring, so making a chutney which is especially good with pork seems a bit disingenuous.  Perhaps she will forgive me if I put her name on the label.
