‘Long may we live, happy may we be, blessed with content and from misfortune free.’

A large hand-built terracotta dish, decorated in white slip and drawn into with words and pictures by Sophie Wilson for 1690 Ceramics. The ditty originates from an 18th century English creamware mug, made for a child; the fig, a symbol of peace, abundance and enlightenment.
