Hand built tian in terracotta and white slip, decorated with pomegranates, a symbol of abundance and fertility, taken from a favourite antique suzani.  French tian bowls were originally used to prepare duck confit in the 18th century.   The interior of this bowl has a rustic surface, typical of provincial pottery.

Dimensions: 15.5cm high, 15cm diameter at the base, 39cm at the widest point
